Overview

You will know that you are travelling first class when you see your name on the hand-held board of our uniformed chauffeur. You will then be speedily and comfortably transferred from the airport, through the city to arrive in the ocean side, ambassadorial, residential area of Oyster Bay.

Whether it is just for a few hours or overnight – we do not envisage our guests staying any longer – you will be pampered and receive a similar type and standard of hospitality you have received (or are about to receive) in the small, luxurious properties of the Southern Tanzanian game parks and the Indian Ocean Islands. And when it is time to leave for the airport, the chauffeur is waiting – It’s all part of the service.

The Oyster Bay is like staying with friends, a beautiful large home and garden with eight luxurious ocean facing guest suites, spacious in the extreme (70 sqm) with luxurious bathrooms, air-conditioned, fabulously furnished in contemporary African style, the suites reflect modern day Africa in a timeless setting – balmy, equatorial, coastal, Dar es Salaam. You will feel that you are staying somewhere special and that your ‘enforced’ stay in Dar es Salaam becomes yet another highlight of your holiday. Extensive lounges and terraces overlooking mature gardens, swimming pool and within secure walking distance of the Oyster Bay shopping centre.

Cool – in every sense of the word.

We know that you will not be staying long so have designed each suite for maximum impact with a contemporary African design scheme that will linger in your mind long after you have left. The accents are on space, comfort, clean lines, cool and natural colours with a vibrant ‘splash’ here and there to remind you that you are indeed in Africa.

King sized or twin beds face the ocean view, comfortable lounge furniture, writing desks, plasma screen televisions and WiFi computer technology, in fact everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

Air-conditioning of course, it is sometimes necessary in this equatorial climate, but each suite is fitted with ceiling fans and also French doors that open on to an ocean facing balcony capturing even the slightest breeze. The en-suite bathrooms, with free standing bath and ‘walk through showers’ and enclosed toilet cubicle flow off the main bedroom area creating a feeling of modern day spaciousness.
