Overview

The mountain is the second highest mountain measuring 5,895 metres (19,341 ft). When you reach the top of the mountain apart from the satisfaction of conquering the mountain the views are breathtaking. You can climb the mountain from several routes. These include machame, marangu, rongai, lemosho, shira & umbwe. The more used are machame & marangu. Marangu is the easier of the two and the accommodation is in huts hence the great preference of people to use this route.

Just because the route may be easy does not mean you should underestimate the mountain as many have done to their own detriment. When you do choose to climb the mountain please visit your physician to ensure that your body is up to the altitude levels and low temperatures. Also be advised that anyone who climbs Mount Kilimanjaro will experience some discomfort from headaches, hypothermia & shortage of breath.
