Overview

Nyungwe Forest National Park is located in the southwestern part of Rwanda.  It is in a high-altitude, mountainous rainforest.   It is also East Africa's largest protected high-altitude rainforest. 

The park was established in 2004 and covers an area of approximately 970 km².   The park contains a variety of 13 different primate specie, plant species
