Overview

Ruaha National Park is the largest national park in Tanzania. The name Ruaha comes from the Great Ruaha River. The river is the only perennial river at the national park. Ruaha National Park is also Tanzania's 2nd largest national park and it boasts of probably the largest population of elephants in Tanzania. Furthermore the park is a bird haven with over 526 species of birdlife, even attracting migrant species such as the White Stork.

    * Stone age ruins at Isimila, near Iringa
